FAQ

How long can I have to work on my translation?

We ask that you complete your translation within 30 days and if you’re unable to finish, or you decide not to continue, there might be someone else in our translator community who can finish the work you begin. If you want to let go of a translation you were unable to finish, please contact us at OSHOTALKS@oshointernational.com.

What if I don't agree with the changes the reviewer made to my translation?

Our technology partner dotSUB automatically emails both you and the reviewer once a translation has been assigned for review. We encourage reviewers to contact translators with suggested major changes before they actually make them. We trust that two people can intelligently sort this out. Final approval of details befor publication lies with the reviewer and the administrator. Both of your names will appear on the translation when it is published. Contact OSHOTALKS@oshointernational.com if any questions arise.

How do I request an OSHO TALK for translation?

Do so by clicking on the video thumbnail on OSHO TALKS home page and then click  'Request to Translate'. Once someone at OSHO TALKS approves your request, you can get down to the joy of translating Osho. Response from us is usually quick but it may take as long as 48 hours.

I've tried to translate a talk, but dotSUB is denying me access. What's wrong?

Make sure that you are signed in at dotSUB, if you still have difficulties please send us a mail to OSHOTALKS@oshointernational.com.

Where can I get help with using dotSUB?

The dotSUB website provides very good tutorials and help at dotSUB. If you have any Osho specific translation questions please send a mail to OSHOTALKS@oshointernational.com

Can more than one person work on a translation?

Sure. You can even do it as a group for the longer talks if you like. However we can only give credit to two people when the translation is published.

How do I find other translators working in my language?

For the time being, the best place to find other translators in your language is to check out our Facebook site OSHO TALKS here.

Can I use other tools outside of OSHO TALKS or dotSUB to organize other translators working in my language?

Sure. Use the solutions that best fit the way you want to work. We have set up an additional Facebook website for this translation project and we are setting up specific language groups on Facebook. To determine whether a group already exists in your language, check the discussion board on our Facebook site OSHO TALKS here . You can also send us a message at OSHOTALKS@oshointernational.com.

I already use other software to create subtitles. Can I upload .srt or .stl files to dotSUB?

Yes. Check out the link at the very bottom of the translation page for your talk on dotSUB. A software which works with PC and MAC and could be used while translatong off-line is "Jubler", you can find it here: www.jubler.org

Do OSHO TALKS Translators /Transcribers get paid?

There is no pay for translators, as OSHO TALKS is a contribution to a non-profit foundation to make Osho’s proposal and the work of Osho International Foundation available around the world. We will give you credit for your work by name on our website. Your translation is your contribution to make these talks available to new people in multiple languages.
